Demo a Bike

There are a lot of good reasons to demo a bike. Here are a few:

  • It gives you the opportunity to test in real-world conditions. Even experienced riders can find it difficult to predict exactly how a bike will perform on-trail just by taking it on a traditional "parking lot" test ride. When you demo a bike, you can ride it on terrain that you are familiar with and experience it firsthand.
  • It helps you confirm what size fits you best. Mountain bike geometry has been rapidly evolving in new designs over the past few years. For a rider trying to understand how these changes will impact their confidence and comfort as they upgrade from an older bike, it can be overwhelming. These changes typically include:
    • Bigger wheels mounted in lower, longer frames.
    • Seatposts that change height on the fly.
    • Shorter stems (a.k.a. "goosenecks") paired with much wider handlebars.
    • Dramatic shifts to key angles on the frame (e.g. head tube and seat tube).
    • Etc.
  • It's FUN! Getting on a professionally-maintained machine that boasts cutting-edge components and modern geometry can be downright exhilarating.
  • Prevent "buyer's remorse." It's happened to all of us.  You buy a cool new gizmo, you get it home and start using it, and you want to love it... but the experience falls short of your expectations.  Demo'ing a bike delivers an added level of confidence that you are purchasing the RIGHT model in the RIGHT size with the RIGHT components to best match your needs and preferences.
  • Leverage our expert advice. Our staff members are trained and ready to answer any questions you might have about each model we offer, and if your query stumps them, they have the resources to track answers down.  Having an on-trail experience will allow you to consider more in-depth topics to help you better understand the equipment you're considering purchasing.
  • It may not cost you a thing. When you pay to demo a bicycle, it is different from a traditional rental in that the demo fee can be applied to the purchase of a new bike!  Restrictions apply, see the bottom of this page for details.

Restrictions on Applying Demo Fees to a Future Purchase

Demo Fees can only be applied to the purchases that meet the following criteria:

  • The purchase is for a new bicycle, not parts/accessories/apparel/etc.
  • The bicycle purchased is similar to the one tested.  It does not have to be the same model or brand as the bike tested, but should be of the same general type. For example, if a men's electric mountain bike is tested, the credit can be applied to a different men's electric mountain bike, but not be applied to a youth bike or a road race style bike.
  • Multiple demo fees can be applied to a single purchase, but is limited to three individual demo fees.
  • Bicycle purchase must occur within 30 days of the date the demo bike was returned.
